Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

This Privacy Policy explains how Hyland Holdings LLC, a Missouri limited liability company doing business as Coding Chicken and Pinnacle Plugins ("we", "us", "our"), handles personal information across our family of sites, including codingchicken.com, pinnacleplugins.com, coryhyland.com, and hylandholdingsllc.com.

We built these sites to collect as little as possible. We do not run third-party analytics, advertising pixels, session-replay tools, or chat widgets, and we do not sell or share your personal information.

2. Information we collect

  • Information you send us. When you use our contact form, we collect the name, email address, subject, and message you provide.
  • Account information. If you hold a license or use a customer account, we store your name, email address, a securely hashed password, and your license, activation, and support records.
  • Payment information. When we sell a paid product or service, payments are processed by our payment provider (Stripe). We do not receive or store full card numbers; we receive limited transaction details such as order amount, status, and the email associated with the purchase.
  • Plugin licensing requests. Our plugins check their license and available updates by sending your site's URL and license key to our own servers. This is a communication between your site and us, not a third party.
  • Technical information. Our servers and infrastructure providers keep standard logs (such as IP address, browser type, and timestamps) for security, diagnostics, and abuse prevention.

3. Cookies

We use only strictly necessary cookies. Specifically, a session cookie and a security token cookie that keep the site working and protect against cross-site request forgery. These are first-party, and modern browsers treat them as essential.

Our security and infrastructure layer (such as Cloudflare) may set a cookie used to distinguish humans from automated traffic. We do not set advertising, analytics, or tracking cookies, so the site does not require a cookie consent banner for the categories that normally trigger one.

4. How we use your information

  • To respond to your inquiries and provide support
  • To deliver, maintain, and secure our products and services
  • To manage licenses, accounts, updates, and purchases
  • To meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations

We do not use your information for behavioral advertising, and we do not build advertising profiles.

5. Service providers

We share personal information only with the providers we need to operate, and only for that purpose:

  • Payment processing: Stripe, which acts as the seller of record for our packaged software and handles payment and tax compliance.
  • Hosting and infrastructure: the providers that run our servers, content delivery, and security.
  • Email delivery: the provider we use to send transactional and support email.

These providers process information on our behalf under their own terms and security obligations. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

6. Data retention

We keep account, license, and order records for as long as your account or license is active and as long as needed to meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations. Contact-form messages are kept for as long as needed to handle your inquiry and our records of it. You can ask us to delete information we are not required to retain.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal information, including the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of it, and to object to or restrict certain processing.

California residents (CCPA/CPRA): you have the right to know what we collect, to request deletion or correction, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of, but you are welcome to contact us with any request.

EU and UK residents (GDPR/UK GDPR): you have the rights above, and you may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

To exercise any right, reach us through our contact form. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

8. International visitors

We operate from the United States, and your information is processed there. If you access our sites from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, including HTTPS across our sites, hashed passwords, access controls, and handing card payments to Stripe rather than processing them ourselves. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security, but we work to protect your information and to limit what we hold.

10. Children's privacy

Our sites and services are intended for a professional audience and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be reflected on this page, and your continued use of our sites after an update means you accept the revised policy.
